Hawaii

We took an awesome trip to Hawaii after Tanner got home from him Mission. Mike and I brought Molly and left the rest of the kids home with Grandma Mary. The kids all got hand foot and mouth the day before we left. Molly had a fever of 101 as we boarded the the plane. All odds were against us but we made it there and we had a great time. Molly did pretty well on the plane all things considering. She slept pretty well on the trip and even let other people hold her. We went snorkeling, cliff jumping and did a crazy eight mile hike to a waterfall. The go pro was a must have on this trip. We got some amazing footage. The hotel we stayed at had to be the best on the island of Kauai. It was a Marriott that used to be a Ritz. It was beautiful. Right on the water with amazing views of the ocean. It was small and full of old people. We felt like we had the place to ourselves. The first day we went to Shipwreck beach. It had a 30- 40 ft cliff jump. Everyone was pumped to do it. We were so excited to take and go pro up and video the whole thing. Well, we hit the wrong button and did not get any footage. Bummer but a good learning experience. The next day we hiked the Nepali coast. It was a 4 mile hike into waterfall and then 4 miles back out. I guess we had a lot of confidence in ourselves. I also had Molly in a front pack. Just an extra 20 pounds I was carrying around. The hike was beautiful but very muddy and steep in parts. You went through the river multiple times. The first half was perfect but then you had to turn around. The last mile was the worst. My legs were done and Mike was angry. So we did not hike together. Finally, we made it to the end. I thought I was going to die. But on the way home Mike and I made up and decided in the end the hike was worth it. Our final prize was our LL feast. We ate their almost every day. The rest of the trip was full of beach days and drives around the island. It was perfect. Kauai we will be back. Next time without Molly.
