Dad surprised me this year with new roller blades just like Kate. I was pretty excited to use them. So after presents Kate and I bladed up and went out front to try them out. It was doing some sweet tricks in the street and was ready to head inside. Brynn was sitting on the Jazzy in the garage and started rolling down the driveway. I forgot my blades were on and went to save her. I did a terrible spin out crash. I landed right on my tailbone. It hurt so bad. Mike came to my rescue but I know inside he was laughing his head off. By the way I did save Brynn just not very gracefully. My butt hurt for Months after that. And I did not put my blades back on either. Good thing the kids love using them. Its like wearing big boats with wheels on their feet. Kate and Ryan are getting to be pretty good bladers.
The rest of the family came over for Christmas Brunch. It was so yummy. The grandkids asked Grandma to wear the swather they made her. She reluctantly did. Little did she know it was a little Christmas prank played by Alli, Mj, and I. Mary thought she was getting a cute red sign to put in her kitchen but she got the sweater instead. We finally filled her in on our prank after we made her wear and play the singing Christmas sweater for awhile. It was so funny. I don't think she thought it was as funny as we did, but she was happy when she got her sign. Our final Christmas tradition is the kids doing a book exchange. The names change and rotate every year. The kids look forward to giving their cousins a gift. This year they all look pretty happy with their books.
