Sahara Safari Zoo

Today we went to the Sahara Safari Zoo in Reno. We had no idea what to expect. The only Zoo I know anything about is the San Diego Zoo. So we went with no expectations. It was actually really fun. Being that it is Spring it is mating season. The male peacocks were feeling feisty. They all had their feathers on display. I had never seen them up like that before. I was just hoping that Mike did not get any ideas. I am not ready to see his feathers on display.

In the petting zoo there were a lot of small dear and cows. We were ambushed as soon as we walked in. And unlike everyone else we were not holding any food. They were eating our clothes, the stroller, and Mike. Mike was constantly running from them. We started to wonder if they ever fed the animals.

I have never gotten this close to the animals before. They are always so barricaded in that you can't even find them in their cages. Kate just watched the lion as it sat right in front of her. Lucky for me the camel was filling a little frisky too.
