Brynn Alice is Here

I tried for weeks to put myself into labor. All attempts failed. My doctor told me the only date open to be induced was April 19Th at 11 PM. I was devastated because my Mom and Dad left town on the 20Th at 6:15 AM. Which meant that my Mom would not be at the delivery. I cried and begged but there was nothing he could do. The night finally came and we barley got in because the labor and delivery unit was so busy. I would not have taken no for an answer. Mike was not excited to go in so late because he knew that we would not get any sleep. We got there at 11 and they started the IV and paper work. I was at a 3 but was still not effacing. So they incerted some cytotec. It had to stay in for 4 hours and was ment to rippen my cervix. After 4 hours I was a 5 but was not fully effaced yet so they but in some more cytotec. They told me I could get an epidural anytime. I was uncomfortable, but not in a lot of pain. I oppted for the eppidural at 4 AM in hopes of getting some sleep. It worked and I was feeling great. The next time she checked me I was an 8. The cytotec had put me into active labor so no pitosin was needed. I was a 10 at 10AM but my doctor was in surgery so they had to call in a subsatute. Kelly got there at 9:30 just in time for the end. Brynn Alice Stewart was born at 10:13 AM. She was 8 lbs 4 oz. and 21 1/2 inches long. She was born with the cord loose around her neck like a necklace. What a lady. She really never cried even when she got her first shot. She still never cries. Mike did really well he teared up like he did with Kate. I guess he has a tender spot for his daughters. Kelly watched the whole thing. She only had to sit down once Brynn came out because she was a little blue and it made Kelly nervous. (Kelly does not do well with blood or anything gross.) It was the best labor I could have asked for and I am so glad that all my attemps in the weeks prior had failed. She is now our little 4/20 baby.
